Scott Watson (B.S. Music Education, West Chester University; M.M. and D.M.A. Composition, Temple University) has taught instrumental and classroom music in the Parkland School District (Allentown, Pennsylvania) for more than 30 years. Dr. Watson regularly leads courses in music education technology for University of the Arts, Cairn, and Central Connecticut State Universities, as well as Applied Composition for the University of Valley Forge. Watson has designed several online music courses for Knowledge Elements Education Network as well.

Watson has presented numerous clinics, workshops, and presentations at state, national, and international conferences and for school district in-service training, including a keynote presentation for the 2013 Music Technology in Education Conference in Melbourne, Australia, and sessions at the 2015 NAfME National Conference (Nashville, TN), the 2017 NAfME Eastern Division Conference (Atlantic City, NJ) and the 2017 Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic (Chicago, IL). His book, Using Technology to Unlock Musical Creativity, which focuses on project-based, creative music learning facilitated by technology, is published by Oxford University Press. About Using Technology to Unlock Musical Creativity, reviewer David Ashworth (Teaching Music UK, December 2011) says, "...a comprehensive work, highly readable and packed with good ideas. I cannot think of another single volume that does the job as well as this book. Highly recommended." He was a regular contributing author for Music Education Technology magazine, serves on the Board of Advisors for the Technology Institute for Music Educators (TI:ME), for many years as chair of its Publications Committee, and is the editor for Technology Guide for Music Educators (Thomson Publications). His use of technology with his elective music courses and band program have been cited in many journal and web articles.

An award-winning and frequently commissioned composer as well, Watson is an exclusive composer for Alfred Publishing and has works published by Wingert-Jones, Hal Leonard, TRN, C.L. Barnhouse, and Shawnee Press (Concert Works Unlimited) as well. Many of his works have been named Editor's Choice by J.W. Pepper, and several are on BandWorld Top 100 and the Japan Band Clinic's Yamaha Recommends 100 Pieces for Band listings.
